Painted brake calipers and valve cover...any opinions? 700

My friend's dad wanted to paint the brake calipers (or the casing or something, whatever brake component you can see just inside the rims)on his Audi and he offered to do my brake calipers and valve cover in the color of my choice. Do you think that it would look good, or just like one of those cheap mods people do in the hopes that they will look cool? If you think it's a good idea, what color should I go with? My 1988 744 turbo is dark blue and you can see pictures of it at

Thanks for your input.
