960 crank gone out? 900

howdy,
so i've kinda been defeated by my cam gear location problem the last 2 weeks or so.
ive got the cams to where they were before i replaced the belt. and turning the crank by hand you can really feel the compression in the cylinders.
but still no start.
now when the car was warmed up and i shut it down and came back it took a second or two of cranking and maybe a tap on the gas pedal.

so could my crank sensor have bitten the dust? any way to test it or get a good look at it?
