4 speed overdrive unit to 3 speed auto 200

I have a 1980 244 DL with a three speed auto tranny. The car cruises at around 65 MPH at 4000 RPMs. I was wandering if I could take the overdrive unit off of a four speed manual with overdrive and put it on my automatic, and if so, what it would take to do so.
