Oil leak mystry. 200 1988

I have a 1988 Volvo 240, and I was check the oil and other things under the hood today. I noticed that I had oil along the oil filter, that must have driped down to the moter mounts and splash pan. On the filter the oil seemed pretty fresh. The level is still in the top of the range on the dip stick. I thought that maybe the oil filter was loose but it did not seem so. Might anyone know what is happening. Maybe it's just a bad just a filter? By the way, I use the Volvo filter.

Tahnks for your help and Happy bricking.
