Antifreeze in carpets 200 1983

I own an '83 240 that is due for a wiring harness. But that is not my most current problem with my two cars. In my other car I had a heater core fail and spill the water and antifreeze into the interior soaking my carpets. Does anybody have some suggestions about cleaning this mess up besides taking to a detailing shop. I don't want to pay $85 for someone else to do the work.
