B230F 86 245 Anyone done a Valve shim???..... 200 1987

The B230F engine on my 87 245 is near 300k miles. There is noticable valve noise at all rpms. (so low oil pressure at idle is not a factor)

It would appear that the ole boy needs a bit of VAlve shimming.

Has anyone done this???

Is it a huge deal???

I have done timing belts, brake lines, etc., on my Volvos, and even a complete overhaul on a mazda engine.

So the wrench twisting part is ok.

Are there things I should be aware of that my repair manual (Haynes) does not address??

Thanks in advance.

A Happy new year to all bricksters...
