vibrations (drive shaft, thrust bearings?)...'73 p1800es 1800 1973

i've put about 4000 mi. on it since i bought it. (now has 181,000 mi.) anyway, it seems to have developed some sort of a drive train vibration. tough to describe. its worse in 4th and overdrive and seems to go away when letting up on the gas. probably highest between 2500 and 3000 rpm. something like an unbalanced drive shaft?
any inputs appreciated...
