84 240dl boos qustions, can I just blow the damm thing? 200 1984

I have an 84 240dl w/ B23F with 250.000mi on it and after a lot of soul searching I have decided to give this car more power. Now do keep in mind that this is my first Volvo and more importantly it will be the first car that I do more then a port & polish or cam/ ignition upgrade to. I plan on doing all the work on it myself and even have some experience doing rebuilds (i.e. a Chevy 350 and a Toyota 1.8 SOHC EFI 4 cyl) however what I want to do is a bit more then just that, I want to add either a turbo unit to this car or go with a centrifugal “blower”. Any recommendations?
