Dangling Wire 200 1989

I have a B230F with AW 70/overdrive transmission. I looked under my brick today and saw a dangling wire. It looks like an electrical connection (like one of the wires that goes to the main fuel pump). It was dangling on the passenger side of the car, next to the automatic transmission pan. It was a black wire that ran straight up above the transmission pan and disappeared. I'm wondering if it's an overdrive wire? It's NOT the oxygen sensor wire, because I confirmed that the oxygen sensor in the catalytic converter is intact.
