DIY Brake Job...good idea? 200 1984

I need a full brake job on the 245 and want to know if you'd recommend this. I would need new rotors, pads and lines at all 4 corners. I myself have a good set of craftsman tools and a pair of jackstands. My only resource for the procedure would be my Haynes and my mechanically inclined friends.
I would only consider this if it were a fairly straight-forward procedure as I do not want to risk my safety.
Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks
Oliver
