Is choke removal an easy job? Help needed urgently 200

I seem to remember seeing the word choke used for throttle in some U.K. automotive books. Maybe we're talking about cleaning the throttle body. Is there a control to the left of the steering wheel labeled CHOKE? To continue, if this is a K-system, that hose may be the one from the flame trap. It would plug into a hole in the front of the mechanical air meter just to the left of the duct from the air cleaner. It can be a bear to get back in if the hose has hardened from age.
