ghosts in the warning lights! and the AC button blinks, too! help! 700

I can't explain what they do but for a picture of alternator brushes go to www.foreigncarpartsonline.com Search for your Volvo model and year and then use the search function and type in "regulator"...a small list of regulators will be there including the "Voltage Regulator". Click on Voltage Regulator and there should be a picture of one. (if not for your specific year then try a 1990/740/8-Valve)

The brushes are the two grey things sticking out. These wear down (min spec is 5mm I think) and can be replaced by themselves (if you are good with a soldering iron) or you can probably change the whole voltage regulator. These are two good, inexpensive, alternatives (no pun intended) to replacing your whole alternator...

Good luck,
Bean
