Please Help! Breather Box tube broke off in engine! 200 1990

while attempting to remove my breather box in my 1990 240, the plastic down tube broke and the gasket and all fell into the hole. I've tried to pull it out with needle nose pliers but just pieces break off. How am I going to get it out? What happens if I drive by just sticking the old breather box back on. I've drained my oil- no pieces.
