Fan only works at max speed 200

Hi all.

I went out for lunch an hour ago and cranked up the old 245ti and the fan was blowing at max speed. The switch was on "1". I moved the switch through it's four positions and it had no effect. I tried sliding the switch in between speed settings which normally kills the fan completely but that didn't do anything either. The switch is completely inoperative.

I've searched the board (there's even been a post today about the resistor) but so far I've only found people who have lost fan function in the lower settings. I didn't find a post from anyone who had the fan blowing at max regardless of switch settings. Maybe I missed them or I've been using the wrong search terms.

Anyway, as it only just happened, I haven't even been able to pull the dash and check the switch for something obvious (I will at home tonight). I just figured I'd go ahead and post in the event someone might know just what it is. Would switch failure or the switch wires being pulled loose cause this?

As always, thanks in advance for the feedback.
