Electronic ignition, yes or no. 120-130

Lately I have been thinking about installing an electronic ignition into my ’68 122 w/ a B18 (it also has an alternator upgrade and the original coil, if that makes any difference), and then I wonder why I should? I mean the car runs good on the highway and idles pretty smooth most of the time (SU adjustments and attention to points and plugs about 2x per year).
And I know with an electronic ignition the points are no more. But what if it’s running OK with the points?
Can someone give me some good reasons to get an electronic ignition? And along with those reasons can you advise me as to what kind to get, and the differences between them?
The ones I know of are the Cranes (previewed on VClassics), the Perlux (of which I know nothing, except what's told on the IPD site) and some kind of an adaptation of the 240 ignition to fit the B18/20 (the last I heard about from a George Downs post).
As always, thanks for your feedack.
