Intertiment Starting Problem 700

Hi: I have a 88 740 gle wagon and when I first bought it it did the exact same thing. As I looked around I could sell: the previous owner had the in tank fuel pump replaced, the alternator, starter, battey, relays, the whole 9 yards. But he sold it to me at a realy low price so I bought it. What I found was this : loose wires under and behind the distributer. I started the engine and used a piece of wood and began moving the wires and bu God the engine misfired right away and stalled out and woundn't restart intill I wiggled the wires. I unplug them and tightend them up and repluged them in and have not ever had it happen again, and that was 3 years ago. Hope this helps you, Dan M.
