Resurrecting from unexpected storage 700 1985

My vehicle ('85 745 w/ v8) was unexpectedly stored for 6 months. It was supposed to be driven once a week, but was "forgotten" about. I am about to go get it and wondering if people have advice for what I should do to keep it from harm when I first start/drive it. The car was stored in a garage in Las Vegas, so it was out of the elements, but probably toasty most of the time.

My thoughts were that I would drain ~1 quart of oil, take off the valve covers, then put a quart on top of the heads. Checking the rest of the fluids will be important.

Any other thoughts?

Thanks!
-simon
