where do i get a M46 w/OD or M47?? 700

i still have the idea to change in a 740 the trannsmission from automatic to manual - since there are no manual around in southern CA. I have a manual 740 T '87, but with 240km it is slowly dying :-(
So i was thinking about getting a inexpensive and in good condition 740 with automatic tranny and switch it to manual.
So how much would a M46 w/OD or M47 cost (can i sell the automatic again??) and where do i get it from (no junk yard has a manual tranny here in San Diego). Do i also have to change the differential (since i think automatic and manual have a different gear ratio).
