Turn signal and overdrive 200 1980

Check the turn signal switch. Sounds like a short to me. After that check the flasher relay.

For the OD:

When you get to about 45-50 mph, just flip the switch. No clutch needed when going into OD, but I like to use the clutch when I turn it off. Here's the direct quote from the owners manual that came with my 1980 245.

"Overdrive (some models only)

The overdrive can be engaged in 4th gear only.

No extra operation of clutch or throttle pedal is normally necessary. Engagement is facilitated if the accelerator pedal position is maintained steady.

When disengaging, depressing the clutch pedal slightly makes a smooth transfer.
Do not use the overdrive at speeds below 40 mph (60 km/h)"

I suggest you flip through the owners manual in the glove box. If the car doesn't have one, get one from a junk yard for a dollar or two. There actually is some good info in it.
