annoying taillamp/brakelight problems 200 1989

Okay...Wiggle the connector to the taillight assembly & you get this light on, this light off, third brake light on & off & on. Stop wiggling when most of the lamps are on (for the moment) and step on the brakes... the left taillamp goes off. A couple of the lamps never do anything and I am not sure what they are for. Help.

Is there anyway to rewire the printed circuit? It has those white plastic quik-connects and a little tab that snaps onto the top edge. How can I fix it?
