PV's are more particular about backspacing because of the upper/outer suspension pivot that sticks up past the lip of a 15 inch rim. I got a neat set of vintage 60's Torq Thrusts initially for my car but they had the typical 15X6 backspacing of 3.75 inches - probably right for an old Mustang or something but rubbing on the upper pivot on a PV. I resold them on eBay for about even and got some new Torq Thrust II's which for whatever reason come with 3 3/8'ths inch backspacing which fits perfectly on the front.
With 205/65/15 tires I had a very slight clearance issue with the back fenders. I just lightly crimped in the rear fender lip and haven't had problems since. And this last summer I put on a set of 205/55/15's that have plenty of clearance.
Theoretically putting 2 extra incehs of tire to the outside should mess up the alignment, but the steering seems just as light with them as the OE sized tires, and I don't really notice any bump steering.
As for original size tires I've gotten two sets of Firestone F-560's before in '165R15' size (a 72 sidewall aspect ratio is assumed when none is specified). One set for my 1800E, one set for the OE sized steel wheels for the PV. They cost slightly over $200 for a set last time, work pretty well, and the only fault they might have is that they are a little squirrely at the limit - I think they fold over slightly before they slide.
