240 kicks over but won't start. Help, please! 200

I just bought a 1988 DL with 150K on it. It had been neglected and I spend a lot of time washing and cleaning the engine compartment, checking all the leads, etc. The engine started and ran smoothly, while in the garage, but I left it out last night when it was below freezing, and when I tried to start it this morning the engine would kick over but then not run, no matter how long you held the key. If you stopped, waited ten seconds or so, turned the key, it would kick over again but not start. I did this six or seven times and each time it would kick but not start.

What might be the problem? Water in the fuel line or tank that has frozen? Can't think of anything else. Any advice much appreciated.
