engine transplant woes--HELP 900 1997

Just got a call from the spouse, sitting on the shoulder of the interstate in 9 degrees, mad as hell. We had a '97 960 engine transplanted into our '92 960; picked it up Friday, and drove it home without difficulty about 250 miles. Ambient temp in the 30s. Today, she's going up the interstate at about 65 when the engine started accelerating despite her taking foot off gas, then standing on brake. Revv'd very high when she got it stopped and put it into park. While I was on the phone with her, she did start it up again-it was idling normally, and responded to the throttle while in park, including reducing speed when she took foot off gas feed. At the moment, she's on the way to a garage near where she works, and will call if she has any further trouble.
Any suggestions about what I should have the (indy) mech look at, and whether I should plan on picking her up, rather than having her drive home this evening (35 miles to work)?
Thanks
