Automatic transmissions: how long do they live?

Properly cared for and driven well, about how long will the automatic transmissions on the 240s last? I have a 1992 240 auto with 199,800 miles on it. I'm worried about it breaking down on me big time, because it has already eaten up a thousand dollars since November (timing belt, water pump, camshaft seals and then a Bosch alternator) and is now asking for about five hundred more (two new strut bearings up front, alignment). About the only things left to break on it are the engine (not likely), the transmission, and the rear end. Pretty much everything else has already been replaced. Any advice is welcome. Thanks!
