Not what you think . . . 200

I'm almost certain that you've missed the problem, if your car is doing what mine was.

Oiling the hinges is great and all, but what you need to put the WD40/whatever on is the metal part that holds the door open at certain positions. It's an extra metal part that sticks out and keeps the door from free-swinging. You know, when you open the door, it "sticks" like it's in a groove at about half open, and then just slightly before completely open.

It's that part that needs oiling. My passenger side door was making a creaking noise I thought was from the hinges, but spraying them didn't help. I played with the door for a little while longer and discovered that it only made noise when the "holder" part made contact with the door. I sprayed it and it's silent now!

Let me know if my advice helps.
