This evening I had to make a run down the Annapolis Valley. Temperature was -17C so wind chill on the nose of Ole Reliable must have been horrendous at about 70-75 mph. While climbing a hill I had to floor the gas and it resulted in a few pops back through the carbs..... strong enough that it popped the threaded tops right out of the plungers of both carbs (HS6's). I stopped and added gasline de-icer and screwed the rods back into the tops of the carbs. On the way home going up another hill, she popped back through the carbs again ... haven't checked to see if the rods have popped out again but from the way the car feels they haven't ...Anyway, have any of you ever run into this with a carburetted B20E before ? Any suggestion as to cause ? It has never done this before in cold weather ... and we SURE are getting more than our fair share of that this winter !! Any ideas will be much appreciated .....
