Skinny on Fuel Tank Bottom 444-544

I went to tighten the plug on the bottom of the 544 fuel tank. It had been dripping about a drop every 20 seconds. Before applying wrench, I tried cleaning the area with paper towels. Each wipe of the towel begat small steady streams of gasoline. I must have unwittingly disloged the grime caulking sealing the bottom of the tank.

What is the preferred method of restoring the fuel storage system?

1. Find a tank restoration specialist?
2. Buy a new one if available?

A while ago there was some discussion about retrofitting a fuel cell in a 544.

Any thoughts on how to get Patrick back on the road are appreciated.
