Must...assasinate....head gasket.... 200 1989

So i recently purchased a 1989 240DL. Just today it starts blowing white smoke. Of course, i get spooked and check it out and the like. I fiddle with it, drive it around some more and it just starts spewing white smoke. Head gasket, no doubt. Anyone in the San Diego area that does good and cheap work on volvos OR is interested in the purchase of a quasi-used '89 240DL? If not, anyone who would recommend some resources on DIY repair for replacing head gaskets (and probably valves considering it has 242k mi on it)?
