Is it worth buying? Part 2 200

I posted a message about a week ago about a 1984 244 (DL). I finally made connection with the seller to test drive it. It ran fine. Tires are in good condition; some cracked lenses; driver seat sinks down; needs new brakes very soon (per seller); needs one ball joint (per seller); clock does not work; a few other other minor issues; some minor body damage. After starting the engine, the "OD Off" light stayed on the whole time. The button on the shifter (auto trans) did not do anything. It would not shift into overdrive on the freeway. At a traffic light, the "OD OFF" went off by itself for a brief moment and came back on. I suspect that it is the OD relay. There is no way to tell whether the overdrive itself or the solenoid is okay or not. Is there? By the way, the hood release cable broke; I could not look under the hood. About 130K miles. The seller will get the hood release fixed. How much should I offer?
