HELP,FPR Problem, massive loss of power 700

Hi: I hope someone can help me that this has happened to. As I was driving I stop at a light as I pulled away I started to hear tapping and had a massive poer loss. I could'nt go over 30mph, I limped home, bearly, I opened the hood and could smell gas. Question would the FPR cause this ??? I have checked out the reat of the posibilities, so please stay with me on the FPR. Thanks, Dan from NJ.
