OTOH, I have been running a remote filter on my 245 for 17 of its 20 years, installed at the same time and in series with an accessory oil cooler. I tow a trailer in Texas heat. I do have to replace the hoses and adapter o-ring every 8-10 years (they harden and begin to leak), and I do keep a close eye on things because I did have a connection fail once, right after initial install. But for the most part, I am pleased with the service and ease of filter access. (Bought both remote- and -cooler kits from ipd back when)
