other than a volvo, you would suggest.......

"i wouldnt disagree..but is it (a) american made and (b) a car...i thought it was hewn from a a solid lump of character free japanese plastic..."

I know very little about them and don't think that they are made in the US. They could be I suppose but I've never looked into it. Nevertheless I just know that Chris H is adamant that they are a sound choice and if he sees the original question he'd probably say so.

Sometimes I ask myself, if I had to have a newer vehicle or downsize to just one, what would it be? I can't think of anything that is practical. A Police Interceptor Crown Vic would be great for a sedan but then what about the wagon for hauling?

I do know a guy who has a Caprice wagon with an LT1. I'm told it must have been an inside order as it's the Ported FI as opposed to the other. That might be an option. THAT is a great sleeper. He even has thin-stripe whitewalls on it.

I'm happy with my old 2 series Volvos for now.
