Preheater Hose 200 1987

I've noticed my preheater hose coming from the exhaust manifold to the bottom of the air filter box has broken off, or at least most of it has. I went to try to replace it at several places, and the hoses they have dont seem to be long enough to make the stretch all the way across (the longest I've found is 21"). What are my options for getting a replacement and would it hurt mechanically or gas mileagewise to just do without it? Thanks for the help in advance.

Thanks again,
Jeremy
