Remove Door Mirror? 900 1991

okay, so i got a 91 940 NA 2.0 wagon and closed the door this morning... guess what fell off? yeah, you guessed it, the drivers side door mirror. Its an electric mirror (movement and heat) and only the actual glass mirror has come off. This has just left the black plate and the motor and such behind (the black plate looks disturbingly like the mirror - it has the white dotted line on it).

anyways, its wet and cold here in the UK at the moment in time, this makes gluing it back on an impossibility as i have no garage so i want to pull the black plate off or the entire motorized section out. I need to know how you do this as i think i left my haynes manual at the junkjard last week (cry).

please help me, my mirror is currently stuck on with duck tape and i dont wanna lose it on the freeway.

Cheers

Greg Case
