Radio works again -- fuse problem 200

After taking the radio out, realised that one of the 2 fuses in the back was blown. Fuse replaced, radio works again.

I still have heavy statics and sometimes a high pitch sound (like a police siren almost). The sound goes away as I jiggle the cable that goes to the amplifier.

The ground cable does not seem to have any effect whatsoever. Radio sounds the same whether the cable is connected or not.

What can I do to trace the cause of this high pitch sound?
Should I remove the amplifier and have a look there?
Can the amplifier cable be bad? Where to get one? At the dealer?

Thanks.
