How about that axle noise? 1800

I don't think discs would make a 'growling' noise, so that leaves the bearings. (or anybody else has ideas?)
You can check if they're too slack by trying to move the half shaft axialy (to left and right relative to the car; just put the rear axle on jacks and move the wheels)(check both sides). If there is play you have to fill up the play with shims. I can tell you excactly how its done with drums but not sure with discs. Never had discs...
But if it indeed were the bearings, the growling noise would most likely (but not neccesary) occur in left AND right corners. Best to check the play first.
