Replacement odometer gear doesn't work 200

The following two images show the gear placement but I would guess you have it right otherwise I doubt it would go together. Obviously I am showing the two pieces that enclose the gear, but I am showing the gear in each image. Place the gear in the bottom half and put the other half of the speedometer on top of that.

Are you getting a functioning speedometer at this point? Speedometer works but the odometer fails to register?
