engine - rearend 1800

On the rearend:

The 68 has a Dana 30 but still has the same weak point as the 27, the taper with keyway for the drum brakes. Not at all wise to expose to race or racelike stress if you want to keep all 4 wheels on the car. The swap to do if you want to upgrade is the disc brake rearendfrom an 1800E or ES. The axle shafts are as strong as in a Ford 9" and it is a bolt in in a 68. Different wheel bolt pattern but that is easily fixed by machine shop.
