Oil pump replacement - can I do it? 700 1991

It has been recommended that I replace my oil delivery tube o-rings and while I am there do the oil pump and possibly the rod bearings as well. The car is a 1991 745 turbo with 167000 miles on it. I am inclined to pay someone to do this but I hate to spend the amount I would have to spend on labor. Can you all give me an idea of whether an intermediate do it yourselfer could pull this off without taking a week on it? Thanks for the input.

If I replace the rod bearings, how important is it that I determine whether I need regular or oversize ones? How do I measure bearing clearance (plastigage?).
