installing a 1990 240 engine into an 1986 240...issues? 200

I have a 1986 240 wagon with around 300k miles (bad odometer). The wagon is running fairly well at the moment, but has some leaks oil/coolant/tranny fluid and needs some attention. I also have access to a very well running 1990 240 sedan with 100k miles that has no leaks and is in great condition overall. very very clean car overall, but has title problem and can't be registered. Both cars have automatic/od transmissions. It occured to me that the 90 sedans transmission and engine would be nice to have under the hood of my 86 wagon.

My questions are as follows:

1) If I decide to replace the engine and trans. in the 1986 volvo wagon,is the 1990 motor and trans a direct swap? or is it more complicated than that?

2) Besides the obvious stuff (wagon vs. sedan) what parts on the 1990 sedan can't be swapped into the 1986? as a side note...both cars have blue interior too!

thanks in advance for your help/comments
