Schizo 960 Starting Hard 900 1995

I presently have a revolving door at the mechanic's since my brick was towed into the shop with a "dead" battery and CHECK ENGINE light. At the shop they said that the code was a 1-1-2 code so they did a complete diagnostic (voltage drop, test starter, inpect for damaged connectors, tested wiring integrity, tested neutral, aafety switch, etc.) The only thing they could identify was a three year old battery that failed the the hydrometer test but passed the load test with flying colors. Go figure. Charging system putting out almost 80 amps at 14+ volts and there is no draw on the system when the key is off. They asked if they could have it overnight to see if there was any voltage drop off the battery. None found. So I asked for a new battery. They originally said that the Fault Code could be either a bad ECU, Knock Sensor, or low battey. I am now having the same hard start/cranking issues. Runs fine once started but if I leave the car sitting for over night and a day, its back to the same routine. It has not thrown any codes (yet) but is barely starting as though the batter were on it's last leg. Need at least some education before I head back through the revolving door that empties my wallet.
