245: The Project: Taking 425K miles off, one at a time... 200 1980

I’ve decided that I want to completely restore the entire interior of my ’80 245DL, 425K miles hasn’t done much to the engine, but it has sure trashed the inside!

I’ll be taking plenty of pictures, and I’ll be asking plenty of questions, that you can be sure of.

Also, a long the way I would like to upgrade a few things, like the rear window water spray nozzle.

Any other suggestions for upgrades? I don’t want to make the interior of my car look like a later 240, mind you, I just like the older look better my self.

And what visual restoration would be complete with out a new paint job? This will come after I get my replace ment flathood set up ready. (I'll miss having 4 headlights, but I like the 7" round look better.) I’ll ask the questions about that later. Getting it detailed might do it, but I’m not sure...

When I get done with this thing, I’ll have a lot of fun looking at the before and after pictures, and I’ll have a lot more fun driving around in a brand new looking 1980 245DL with over 440K miles on the odometer.

My goal is to be done by August.

Anything else you can add, please do so!

Thanks as always.
