Cleaning brake fluid reservoir -- tips ? 200 1989

I have posted about flushing / bleeding with Eezy bleed and some have advised me to clean the reservoir with Q-tips.

1) Should I remove the reservoir to do that ? If I remove it, should I replace the rubber bushing that are in between the mc and the reservoir?

2) If I don't remove the reservoir to clean it, how much of the old fluid should I remove from the reservoir? Is below the Min line Ok? Is it Ok to remove as much as I can from the reservoir with the turkey blaster? If I let some air in, it will come out during the pressure bleed with Eezy bleed, is that right?

Any tips on cleaning the reservoir are welcome.

Thanks in advance.
