How hard should it be to blow through a fuel pump check valve?? 200

I took off the fuel filter and fuel pump tray today to change the filter and fuel pump check valve. My filter i belive has been there since new 205k miles. I decided since i was already down tere to change the valve. I read that you can test them by trying to blow through them. THe new one Bosch one I can not blow through in either direction. I figured I should be able to blow one way but not the other. The old one i can blow one way easily, and if i blow hard the other a little leaks. No matter how hard I blow into the new one I can not get air though it before my lips start leaking. Is my new one broken? Should it be this hard? And should I just put the old one back on?

THanks

Scott
