Busted Bilstein??? Time for Boge Pro Turbo's???? 200

Team,
I am in a real conundrum and not sure what to do. I currently have Bilstein HDs in my brick and for the past year I have been dealing with clunks, thuds, and rattles. The entire front end is now brand new, and in the rear basically everything is new too, as bushings, control arms, trailing arms, etc. have all been replaced but still hearing rattles/thuds in the driver's-side rear. Could the actual shock be faulty and be causing the rattling or could it be installed upside down?? My mechanic who I trust says there is nothing else to replace in the rear that would be causing these noises.

Other decision: I am also considering switching out the Bilsteins and "downgrading" to some Boge Pro Turbo's. Driving in and around Boston even with 14" rims the ride is downright rough...almost on the verge of unpleasant (subjective I know and perhaps I feel it's worse because of the clunks) and I feel like I'm going to leave a part of the car in the road. It's tough as I love how the car handles on the highway but for my daily driver I feel every little split in the road, bump, pavement sealant, manhole cover, pothole, etc. How much performance would I lose in handling if I went to the Boge Turbo's? I don't want brake dive. I have IPD sways, upper and lower braces and the strut-to-strut upper brace so the chassis is pretty tight. I've checked out the archives and people seem pretty happy with the Boge's. I guess I'm looking for something a little more forgiving but still performance in mind. How bout Koni Sports...softer than Bilstein? I was also thinking of sport springs at some point but with the Bilsteins in New England...yikes!! Sorry for the long post!!
