Distorted gas filler neck top, cap not in fully...... 940t 900 1993

Would this cause rough running? realized neck was distorted when i just registered the car yesterday and put gas in it at the station. Cap does not screw in completely to the rubber gasket up in the cap. Tried to round the neck but couldn't get it totally round, cap still won't screw in fully only part way and then rachets.... Car accelarates fine and turbo engages properly but it has a misfire at idle, no check engine light and no codes display when checking diags...... Any ideas/suggestions appreciated...
