Yeah, you're right, it IS a sports car. People are for the most part spoiled and don't know what it is to drive a real car with just a bit more workload behind the wheel. Power steering pretty much came about to allow navigation of those barges that alot of folks continue to drive. More seriously, one other factor in steering ease is steering box lubrication. It's supposed to use 90W gear oil, NOT chassis grease like I find in so many of them. Chassis grease is used to compensate for leaky steering box seals and in cold weather this stuff turns to a caked up mess. It's worth a check of your box to see what's lurking in there.
