Redline MTL fans- please explain this... 200 1990

I have a 1990 with an M-47. I was reading all of the hype about Redline MTL. I went to the site and found this...

"MTL is not designed for use in rear-wheel drive differentials. Those generally require a GL-5 lubricant such as Red Line 75W90 Gear Oil."

http://www.redlineoil.com/frames/mtlti.htm
(look at bottom of page)

What is the deal, which is really the best choice? I am due to change my fluid soon. One time I tried Mobil 1 synthetic ATF- it was way too slippery and I would miss shifts. I put in Castrol ATF, it seems fine. I was going to use the Redline this time, but now what? What do you recommend and why?
