Pulled codes: Ideas on where to start? 900 1994

Hi All:
Just bought a 1994 940 NA, and now I'm working on it. Pulled the codes and they were: Socket 2: 1-2-1 and 1-2-3, and socket 6: 2-2-4. The 1-2-3 and 2-2-4 codes are engine coolant temp sensor codes, and 1-2-1 is is faulty signal to/from air mass meter. I can't tell obvious starting or performance problems with the car, and haven't had it long enough to tell if gas consumption is affected yet.

So, is it likely that the wiring to the ect is bad or should I figure that it is the ect itself? Where do I start to diagnose the AMM code?

Thanks for your help.
