Speaker choices for doors and dash 700 1992

I'm going to crutchfield and getting a new system for the wagon. What have you folks used in the doors and dash for good sound? I'm looking at a budget of about $450 which means I've got about $150 for speakers.

Also do the speaker covers just pop off of the doors, like the older 700s or do I have to remove the panels? How about the dash speakers? Don't want to break anything and the pick and pulls don't have any late 700s to practice on.
